Black Hole

He is a child; The one who will whistle into the eyes of those who created the darkness and enlighten them, because he is not used to it yet.
It's the child who'll light up the darkness by staring the eyes of it's inventors with his singing cause he didn't get used to, yet.
My film "Black Hole" is an experimental short film project that I produced for the Sabancı Foundation Short Film Competition in 2017. This film tells a story centered on children's rights and highlights the volatile workforce situation, especially in regions near the Middle East such as Turkey.
As a director, I faced many challenges while creating this film. First of all, it required great responsibility to handle a sensitive issue such as child labor with sensitivity and to tell the story accurately. At the same time, it was important to accurately reflect the social and cultural contexts of this topic.
In countries like Türkiye, the child labor problem is a reality that has existed for years and continues for various reasons. In this film, I tried to understand the underlying reasons for child labor and how this situation affects children's lives. The story symbolizes the risks that children are exposed to and their efforts to escape from this situation through the metaphor of a black hole.
The film is 4.19 minutes long and tries to explain the issue of child labor with an experimental approach. Through visual expression and symbols, I aimed to make the audience feel this universal problem deeply. I tried to emphasize the need for children's rights and their protection by leaving traces of hope and resistance within the story.
As a result, the film "Black Hole" is not only a means of artistic expression, but also represents a social message. It aims to encourage the viewer to think and develop a deeper understanding of this important topic.
